Cece Rios and the Desert of Souls is a book about a girl who lives in the desert with strange creatures, half animals half monster called criatura.
Cece Rios has a heart made of water, meaning a caring heart instead of a heart of fire, which is what is needed in the desert to fight against the criatura's. Cece want's to prove that she is worthy and not weak. When her sister get's taken away, Cece adventures out to prove that she can save her sister.
Cece is sad and doesn't even believe in herself after everyone hated her and stayed away. She goes and ventures into the cratura's world bravely even without any help, by herself. Cece finds her sister in another dimension that only criatura's live in and is able to rescue her sister safely.
