Max Helsingand The Thirteenth Curse is an apocalypse kind of book, with loads of adventure and fun.
The book, "Max Helsing and the Thirteenth Curse," is a book about a boy named Max Helsing who lives in a world of monsters. Max is a normal student during the day time, until after school where he hunts monsters. He is part of a family that has a monster-hunting tradition, called the Van Helsings. His father had died recently and now lives with a friend of his father. Though Max's ancestors had killed monster's on sight, Max was kind and fair, only attacking the ones that were dangerous. Soon, on his thirteenth birthday, Max finds out that he's been cursed by an evil warlock that wants to bring his lord, and monsters back to rule the world. It's Max's job to defend the world and break the curse, or else the world will be in trouble.
Max is a kind and awesome hunter, he always took care of them, and was confused when peaceful and dangerous beasts started attacking him out of nowhere.
