Wilderlore: The Accidental Apprentice

An amazing story, this book is about a boy who stumbles upon a magical mystery in his world.

This story is about a magical world, where there is an area called the woods, a mysterious place with magical beasts and beast tamers. A boy named Barclay lives in a town outside of the woods, too big to fit in a map, who hates the woods. Barclay accidently ventures into the woods and tames one of the rarest classes of monster, a mythical beast called Lufthund. Barclay wants to return back to the town that he was kicked from for having a beast. He meets a girl named Violet and sets out with her in hopes of getting rid of his bond. A woman who knows the way to undo the mark says that he must win a competition in hopes that Barclay will like being a tamer and keep the mark in the end.

Barclay seems to have hated having the mark and scared of beasts at the beginning, but later on, Barclay appears to have liked the mark even if he didn't admit it.
